About Shriro

Shriro Group is a leading marketer and distributor of premium consumer products, operating across Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and exporting globally.

We represent a diverse portfolio of Company-owned brands, including Everdure, Omega Altise, and Robinhood, as well as globally recognised third-party brands such as Casio, Pioneer, Grohe, and American Standard.

Our extensive product offering spans consumer electronics, including calculators, watches, musical instruments, audio products, professional DJ equipment, and car audio systems. In the home appliances category, we distribute kitchen, laundry, and bathroom solutions, including sanitaryware. We also offer a broad range of indoor climate and outdoor products such as gas and electric heaters, cooling solutions, gas and charcoal barbecues, and pizza ovens.

To support our operations, Shriro manages two company-operated distribution centres. Our retail footprint includes over 1,000 in-store displays across Australian retail stores and two company-operated retail outlets in Auckland, New Zealand. The Group’s head office and flagship showroom are located in Chatswood, New South Wales.

Shriro employs approximately 153 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff, including 53 sales and marketing professionals across Australia, New Zealand and USA. A dedicated team of 7 employees based in China supports the business through product sourcing, procurement, and quality assurance.

History

Shriro has a trading history spanning more than 32 years and has a long association with the Casio brand, having distributed Casio’s products in Australia since 1982. Since 2001, Shriro has implemented a growth strategy focused on selective brand acquisitions and new product development and innovation, starting with the acquisition of Everdure in that year. In 2010, Shriro acquired Monaco Corporation which expanded the Group into New Zealand.

In 2011, Shriro acquired Hagemeyer Brands, the distributor and marketer of home appliance and lifestyle brands such as Omega and Omega Altise. In 2013 the Group acquired Robinhood.

  • Abigail Cheadle was appointed to the Board of Shriro Holdings Limited in June 2020.
  • Abigail Cheadle is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years of experience working across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. During this time, she led professional services practices for EY, Deloitte, Kroll and KordaMentha, focusing on corporate turnaround and risk management. Abigail advised and helped grow many listed companies, notably, while advising the Indonesian-listed consumer finance company, BFI Finance Indonesia, its market capitalisation grew tenfold.
  • Abigail concurrently also serves as a non-executive director of LGI Ltd and Novatti Limited (ASX: NOV). Previous non-executive director positions were also held at ASX-listed companies: Isentia (ASX: ISD), SurfStitch (ASX: SRF) and QANTM Intellectual Property Limited (ASX: QIP).
  • Abigail is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Queensland University of Technology.

Tim Hargreaves

  • Tim Hargreaves was appointed CEO of Shriro Holdings in January 2018.
  • He has over 35 years’ experience in the consumer goods industry across Australasia and international markets.
  • Tim has expertise in sourcing and growing third-party distributed brands, as well as developing company-owned consumer brands such as Everdure BBQs, now sold in over 35 countries.
  • Prior to his appointment as CEO, Tim was General Manager of Shriro’s Casio division for over 25 years, where he built the brand to market leadership in key product categories including Education and Timepieces.
  • Before joining Shriro, Tim held senior leadership roles with world-class consumer brands including Canon, AKG, Denon, and TOA Electronics.
  • Tim is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Murphy

  • John Murphy was appointed to the Board of Shiriro Holdings Limited in May 2022.
  • John is also currently the non-executive Chair of Alloggio Limited and a non-executive Director of Ariadne. John was a partner at Arthur Andersen, and the founder and managing director of private equity funds including Investec Wentworth Private Equity Limited and Adexum Capital limited. John was previously a director on the following ASX boards: Southcorp Limited, Specialty Fashion Group Limited, Vocus Communications Limited, Gale Pacific Limited, Redflex Limited, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, and Vita Group Limited.

Brian Bunker

  • Brian Bunker was appointed to the Board of Shriro Holdings Limited in April 2022.
  • Brian is currently Managing Director of Riverside, Asia and joined in 2008. He established the Asia Strategy Group in Hong Kong which helps portfolio companies penetrate Asian markets. He also sits on a number of portfolio company boards. Prior to joining Riverside, Brian spent five years at Danaher serving in various senior executive positions providing strategic direction and business development of 22 companies, 7,300 associates and 17 plants throughout China as well as managing companies in Australia and Singapore. Brian also held senior executive positions at a number of leading Multinational corporations including Fortune Brands, Diageo and Matra- Hachette. Prior to his business career Brian was a professional officer in the British Army serving in the Brigade of Gurkhas.
  • Brian earned a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages, from King’s College, University of London and speaks Chinese, French, Italian, Nepali and Spanish. He was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and is a U.K. Chartered Director.
